Analysis of Ancient Eastern civilizations in the context of teaching the «Fundamentals of Russian Statehood»

The article examines the features of the civilizations of the Ancient East in the context of teaching the course «Fundamentals of Russian Statehood». The importance of analyzing the specifics of the emergence of ancient Eastern civilizations, which laid the foundations for the formation of all subsequent civilizations and are the first attempt of humanity to emerge from the state of primitive society, is due to the need for students to understand the place of Russia in the system of world civilizations. The article briefly examines the most important features of the civilizations of the Ancient East, which make it possible to become familiar with the place of these civilizations in world history, to understand their contribution to the development of mankind and to obtain material for understanding the system of world civilizations and Russia’s place in them in the course of further study of the course. The article is the first in a series of articles devoted to the problem of identifying Russia’s place in the system of world civilizations.
