The article provides an analysis of the methods for implementing surface modeling at the stage of product development and design. The article proposes a classification of types of surface modeling in modern production conditions. A detailed description of the features of NURBS modeling based on the degree of continuity of the connection of surface sections (G0-G3) is given. Recommendations are given on the use of surface modeling methods to improve the perfor-mance of a future product and reduce economic costs in production.
