MULTIDISCIPLINARY APPROACHES TO THE TREATMENT OF DIABETIC FOOT IN VORONEZH CITY HOSPITAL №10

There are about 246 million people with diabetes mellitus (DM) in the world. An important issue is the conduct of their diabetic foot syndrome (SDS), which occurs in 20-70 % of cases and leads to amputation in 0.6-0.8 % of patients with DM. Amputation in the background diabetes in 85 % of cases are preceded by ulcerative defects in 50-70 % – gangrene. 71.8 % of patients with diabetes have a mental disorder related to, inter alia, with the fear of operative treatment. In 2011, the endocrinology center of Voronezh City Clinical Emergency Hospital №10 was allocated beds on the profile of «diabetic foot», which made it possible to create a one-of-town and center field, where the treatment of DM is carried multidisciplinary team. Creation of the center with the implementation of modern approaches to the management of patients with DM, reduced the incidence of amputations, disability, length of stay up, mortality, and improve patient’s quality of life.
