ACIDITY VALUES DURING REGENERATION OF SOFT TISSUES
UDC 617-089.844
The literature suggests that the pH value is rarely taken into account in the modern treatment of soft tissue injuries. Processes of wound healing studies strongly suggest that the acidic environment in the inflammatory phase in the first half of the proliferative phase has a positive effect on repair processes by inhibiting bacterial growth, reducing the proteolytic activity enhancing fibroblast proliferation, expression of vascular endothelial growth factor and keratinocyte and delivery oxygen to the tissues; alkaline environment in the second half of the phase of proliferation and in the third phase contributes to the early closure of the defect tissue, epithelialization, skin graft survival. Measurement of the acidity of the wound should be the first step to further expand knowledge in this area. It with other clinical trials can be used in the future, be the basis for any decision.
