TYPES OF ENGLISH ABBREVIATIONS IN MODERN INTERNET COMMUNICATION

The article deals with the issue of using English abbreviations in intermediate internet communication. The authors cover a problem of different linguistic approaches to defining types of abbreviations in English and Russian language traditions. The article also reveals the most frequent kinds of abbreviations in English-speaking virtual communication. The paper presents the results of researching the frequency of various types of abbreviations within virtual text communication
