ANALYSIS OF SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF RURAL SETTLEMENTS IN THE KIROV REGION BASED ON THE MATERIALS OF KAYAKING EXPEDITIONS

Water kayaking allows you to engage in scientific, historical and active tourism. This direction is very valuable for extracurricular work with schoolchildren: along with the acquired skills of driving kayaks and organizing a bivouac, a social survey of the population is conducted along with environmental research; children get acquainted with the natural and architectural monuments of their small homeland – the Kirov region. During the socio-economic survey of residents of settlements located on the banks of the Vyatka river from Kotelnich to the village of Sorvizhi, it was found that most of the settlements are not gasified;the road surface is either un-paved or completely absent; in all settlements there is a reduction in the population due to migration flows towards the regional center; in many settlements there are no schools, medical centers, shops. Problems of rural settlements development are identified and ways to solve them are suggested. The results of the expedition were reported at the events Of the program for gifted students «Step into the future», At the regional competition named after V. I. Vernadsky.
