To the Issue of Migrant Integration in Contemporary Germany

The article analyzes migration processes in Germany against the backdrop of global trends and a demographic crisis. Declining birth rates and an aging population make attracting migrants a key factor in sustaining the economy and labor market. Germany ranks among the world's leading countries in terms of migrant numbers, bringing both economic benefits and integration challenges. Active integration policy, starting in the 2000s, includes a multi-level system of government bodies and integration courses. The 2016 and 2020–2023 laws strengthened the role of the state, linked integration to the labor market, and introduced mechanisms to regulate migrant behavior. Contemporary policy shifts the focus from multiculturalism to mandatory language acquisition and active participation in society, combining humanitarian concerns with economic pragmatism. Special attention is given to attracting skilled labor, accelerating integration, and controlling illegal migration.
