Pros and cons of remote employment: parents’ opinions

In recent years, our society has seen a growing demand for non-standard employment formats. In this regard, there is a growing discussion in the scientific community about the prospects for the development of remote employment, analysis of the pros and cons of remote work both at the organisational and individual level. The article analyses the data obtained during in-depth interviews with representatives of various employment formats (N = 125). The study found that for mothers working remotely, this format has significant advantages in terms of combining work with the upbringing of young children. An important advantage of remote employment is its focus on results rather than the duration of working hours. In the distance work environment, there is an opportunity to increase job satisfaction and work-family balance among parents with young children, if management problems are solved, communication strategies are optimised and employees develop the necessary competencies.
